England vs Romania – International Friendly Preview, Kick-Off Time & Prediction. 
England vs. Romania kicks off on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 17:00 (GMT+1), venue: Riverside Stadium.

England will be coming into this fixture behind five straight victories in six international appearances across all competitions: LWWWWW. On Wednesday, the 2nd of June, England defeated Austria by a lone goal in an international friendly. Bukayo Saka (57') scored the only goal of the game in the second-half after the first had ended without any goal. This would be England's second international friendly before the Euro 2020 begins on the 11th of June when they face Croatia on the 13th of June.

 Gareth Southgate has trimmed his squad to 26 ahead of the tournament dropping the likes of Jessie Lingard, James Ward-Prowse and Ollie Watkins while Manchester United's Mason Greenwood withdrew from the squad in order to fully recover from a recurring injury. In the game against Austria, Gareth Southgate adopted a 4—2—3—1 formation with Harry Kane leading the attack while Bukayo Saka, Grealish and Jesse Lingard played as a trio behind him. A number of changes are expected in the line-up on Sunday when England returns for this international friendly.


Romania lost to Georgia on Wednesday, the 2nd of June in an international friendly – their second in six international appearances across all competitions: LWWDWL. Goals from Georgia's Georges Mikautadze (61') and Giorgi Aburjania (71') saw Romania down by two goals late into the second half before Andrei Ivan (78') cut the deficit in half. However, they failed to find the equalizer until the game came to an end. 2-1! It finished in favor of Georgia. 

This will be Romania's final international appearance before their next appearance - a World Cup qualification tie against Iceland on the 2nd of September 2021. Coach, Mirel Rădoi who has a 33%-win ratio with the Tricolors after taking charge in November 2019 is tipped to adopt an attacking 4—3—3 formation when Romania returns for their second international friendly. Florin Tanase (R. 42') was red carded in the tie against Georgia and will not be eligible to play in this fixture.


Romania defeated England, 3-2 in their last meeting in June 2000. Before that tie, they met as far back as 51 years ago in June 1970 when England won by a lone goal.


A 2-0 victory for England is predicted at full-time.
